Bath’s Independent, Dedicated Air Source Heat Pump Installer
We just do heat pumps.

When I wanted to install a heat pump in my own home, I searched for an installer I could trust to do the job properly. I couldn’t find one in Bath.
I wanted a heat pump because they’re a brilliant technology – central to a sustainable future of heating. So I trained and got certified to provide the services I couldn’t find.
I’m Simon Darnton, founder of Mysa Heating. We’re MCS certified and BUS grant registered — and more importantly, we’re local and independent.
Every project we do starts with a detailed home survey and room-by-room heat loss calculation — which we always share and fully discuss with you before anything else is decided. That’s the foundation we build on. We then take design and installation from there.
If you want a heat pump that keeps you genuinely warm and comfortable, runs efficiently, and does what it’s supposed to quietly in the background — I’d love to talk.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme
(BUS Grant)
The Government Boiler Upgrade Scheme provides a grant of up to £7,500 (£9000 for off gas grid) toward an eligible air source heat pump installation. Mysa Heating is registered for the scheme — we handle the application on your behalf and apply the discount directly to your quote.

Heat Pump System Design
Heat pumps are an amazing technology — and they work very well. But you can’t just throw one into a house and expect it to perform the way a gas or oil boiler might. That approach has given heat pumps an unfair reputation, and it’s not the technology’s fault.
With heat pumps we just need to spend some time designing the system properly for the environment it’s going to work in. That’s not a problem — it’s just a different, better way of approaching things for long-term benefit.
System design means understanding how much heat needs to go where in your home, and when — to ensure you’re warm and comfortable without using more energy than you need to. The process includes:
- Detailed home survey and assessment of your needs;
- Full room-by-room whole house heat loss calculations;
- Radiator and/or underfloor heating design;
- Pipework design;
- Hot water cylinder sizing;
- Heat Pump performance calculation and estimation.

Installation
Once we have a design that works for your home, installation is about executing it with care. A well designed system can still underperform if the installation is rushed or corners are cut — so we take the same methodical approach to installation as we do to design. Our approach is tidy, considered, and respectful of you and your home.
We work with Grant, Nibe, Stiebel Eltron, Panasonic, Vaillant, Viessmann and Ideal — manufacturers we trust to perform.
As we’re independent, materials and technology are chosen based on what fits your home and project needs, not what we happen to sell.

Commissioning
Commissioning is the step most people overlook — done correctly, this is what makes the difference between a system that performs and one that disappoints.
Once everything is installed, we set the system up to perform as designed. That means setting flow temperatures and flow rates correctly, configuring weather compensation so the system responds intelligently to outdoor conditions, and balancing every emitter so heat reaches every room as it should. We test, measure, and log performance before we consider the job to be done.
Then we hand over to you. We will walk through how everything works, what to expect through the seasons, and how to get the best from the system.
We don’t stop when we leave. We monitor and refine the system remotely after handover, actively seeking your feedback so we can optimise based on its real world performance and your experience.

Maintenance
We do, of course, maintain all the systems we install. If you already have a heat pump and need a reliable service partner, please get in touch.
